Meet @thereallifebookreviewer

Lindsey is a part time speech language pathologist and stay at home mom to three cuties in the Kansas City, MO area. She has always loved to read, but she picked up books again in 2021 after a decade without reading.

When she found bookstagram, she was looking for an account with easy to access book reviews with just enough information to help her find her next read. When she couldn't find what she was looking for, she decided to make her own!

She does not get paid for reviews, and only promotes books that she has rated 4 stars or higher, so you can trust her content! A year and a half later, she has turned her passion into a business and she is so glad you're here.

About @thereallifebookreviewer's Book Reviews

TRLBR's book reviews are always honest and will never have spoilers. She prefers going in blind to books, so she gives just enough information for you to gauge your interest while still allowing readers the option to feel mostly blind on what's going to happen.

Reviews include:

  • star rating

  • spice rating

  • 1-2 sentence snapshot of what it's about

  • 1-2 sentence blurb of what she thought

  • how it made her feel in a list of emojis

  • similar titles

  • format: audiobook or physical book

Remember, each reviewer's star and spice ratings are unique to their thoughts and feelings. A book that Lindsey would describe as 4 peppers on the spicy scale may only be 2 for you! Refer to the ratings guide below for more information.

Review posts also include "closed door modifications" for books with open door romance scenes. Open door romance is a term to describe on-page intimacy in a book and is often explicit. Closed door modifications provide the chapters for you to skip if you don't want to read explicit open door scenes.
